    Celebrating Small Wins

Hi, friends! This post was originally what I wrote as a caption for an IG post recently but I decided that I want to share it on the blog and allow myself to be more open and vulnerable while also fully celebrating. I recently had a small win but I wasn’t allowing myself to celebrate it. It was not what I had been working towards or even something that I was really considering. It all happened really fast, and initially I felt grumpy and almost annoyed by it? I definitely called it a consolation prize more than once. Because it all happened really fast and it came with so much…

    Monthly Mumbles 2022.08.08

Hi, friends! How is this the first Mumbles post of the year?! I had missed writing Monthly Mumbles (because you know I love to ramble) so I’m bringing them back! (I’d like to bring back the Week in Outfits post in the near future now that I’m putting real clothes on every day again haha). Since I last chatted about random life things in this Weekend in Outfits post from May, I will catch you up on what’s happened in the last couple of months. Letters Bookshop Sidecar Book Subscription Review

While I love my local public library, the combination of a local bookstore + monthly book subscription + surprise book picks won me over and I recently signed up for Sidecar Book Subscription by Letters Bookshop. Now after three months of having the subscription, I’m sitting down to write this review post! Spoiler alert–I love it and renewed my subscription already. If you’re not local to the Triangle or not yet familiar, Letters Bookshop is an independent bookstore located in downtown Durham that sells both new and used books. Since their relocation to Main Street, they have launched a monthly book subscription called Sidecar. HOW SIDECAR BOOK SUBSCRIPTION WORKS With…

What I Read in June 2022

Welp, it’s officially July (or so I wrote at the end of June though it has taken me a three-day holiday weekend to actually write and publish this post)! Here are what I read in June: WIN ME SOMETHING by Kyle Lucia Wu – 3.75 stars Willa is half Chinese but spent more of her childhood growing up with her white mother. Because both her dad and mom remarried and had children of their own, she feels like she doesn’t belong to either family and anywhere really. She lands a live-in nanny position for the Adriens family and their daughter Bijou. While living with them, she continues to feel out…
