    Celebrating Chuseok

If you’re new or can’t tell by my name, I am Korean! My family moved to the States back in 2006 and while it’s just the five of us (mom + four of us children), we love celebrating Korean holidays. Chuseok is one of the two major Korean holidays along with New Year’s Day. A celebration of the harvest season, Chuseok is a time of gathering and abundance. This year, Chuseok is September 21st but my family celebrated early this weekend! Since it’s just the five of us in the States, sometimes it would a bit silly to make all the traditional holiday dishes for Chuseok. We had a few…

    Monthly Mumbles #5

Here’s a roundup of everything in the last month or so! A lot of “firsts” and a lot of Sujung happened haha. Because I have been Yelping since I graduated from college back in 2016, the local Yelp community feels like a big part of my life. While I have been loving virtual events over the last year, I was ecstatic about the last month’s first in-person Yelp event since February/March 2020. I had so much fun seeing old and new faces! I will share the top highlights from the last few months. 😉 April I went real camping for the first time! It was low-key since we went to Umstead State Park, which is not far from us at all but I am happy I got to cross it off…

I am so thrilled to share my first blog post talking about money! Having grown up poor, I have somewhat of an unhealthy relationship with money. What has helped me in recent years is talking about money with friends and my sisters, and I have been wanting to bring those conversations onto the blog for quite some time. In today’s post, I am talking about the credit cards I use. I actually did not have my first credit card until after college, and I only got it because my older sister Jiyoung literally dragged me to the bank to open one. In my defense, I had applied for a different…

    Monthly Mumbles #3

Hi, friends! On the last Sunday of March, I am back with more Mumbles. March has been a whirlwind of a month to say the least. I cannot believe w’ere already done with 1/4 of 2021 but I am really looking forward to what the rest of this year will bring. With this month’s Mumbles, I tried something different and set it up more like a photo diary—let me know what you think!
