What I Read in March 2024

It’s officially spring now, and I’ve been so energized by the longer days! I’ve gotten into a good groove with the new job schedule (only took like five months haha), and I’m back to reading in the mornings (with my old work schedule, I was a morning workout person for the first time ever in my life!). FLAWLESS: LESSONS IN LOOKS AND CULTURE FROM THE K-BEAUTY CAPITAL by Elise Hu I had read a Bookstagram review of Flawless a while back but what got me into actually listening to the audiobook was a bonus podcast episode I came across which was from a live show with the author Elise Hu.…

What I Read in February 2024

Hi, friends! Almost a whole week into March, and I’m finally sharing my February reads! It was obviously a short month, and my new work has really picked up the last couple of weeks ago so I haven’t been reading as much but I read some great books last month: THEY CALLED ME A LIONESS: A PALESTINIAN GIRL’S FIGHT FOR FREEDOM by Ahed TamimiĀ & Dena Takruri I have been seeking out Palestinian voices the last few months as I’m sure many of you are as well. They Called Me A Lioness was on many recommended reading lists, so I had to wait a while for my Libby hold, understandably so!…

What I Read in January 2024

Hello, friends! Hope your new year is off to a good start! That has been the case for me. The new job is picking up and I’m learning lots but the work-life balance has been much better so far. This year, rather than reading however many number of books, I’m focusing on reading books that have been on my list (particularly prioritizing books I physically own and some longer books) and reading more books in Korean. So far, I feel like I’m making a decent progress and fingers crossed, I keep up with this goal better than I did last year! Here’s everything I read in January: THE HEAVEN &…

What I Read in December 2023

Hi, friends! Another year has come and gone just like that. A full week into the new year, I finally sat down to write about all the books I read in December. I have been feeling more like myself the last couple of months which I think is the reason why I’ve read quite a bit last month. MOCKINGJAY by Suzanne Collins – 4 stars You know I’ve been re-reading the Hunger Games Trilogy before I read the “new” fourth book. My sister had borrowed my copy of the Mockingjay so I demanded it back so I could finish the Trilogy as soon as possible (don’t worry, she hadn’t started…

What I Read in November 2023

Happy December, friends! Perhaps it’s because November was a longer month, perhaps it’s because I have not been leaving the house much, perhaps it’s because I started a new job at the beginning of November but I read quite a bit which came as a surprise to me. Consequently, this is the longest book post in a long time–happy reading! HELLO BEAUTIFUL by Ann Napolitano – 4.25 stars This was one of those books I go into knowing very little, and it turns out differently than I had anticipated. But then again, I don’t think I’ve read a book like Hello Beautiful before so perhaps I couldn’t anticipate this story…
