    Our Honeymoon in Maine

We got married a week ago on Labor Day Sunday and just returned from our honeymoon in Maine. I definitely want to share more about the wedding in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here’s how our honeymoon went! After going back and forth between choosing a place we were familiar with (Charleston) or someplace completely new to both of us, we decided on Portland, Maine. We actually planned to go back in 2020 following our Portland, Oregon trip in 2019 but that never happened for obvious reasons so it felt fitting. Many people do Boston-Portland-Bar Harbor route for their Maine trip but since our trip was Tuesday-Saturday and we…

    My Strawberry Bridal Shower

Last weekend, Rex’s mom Ginger and one of his sisters-in-law Cait threw me a strawberry theme shower and it could not have been more perfect! My older sister Jiyoung offered her home to host the shower, which I was so thankful for too. Rex gifted me these flowers the morning of the bridal shower day per my request, which we ended up using on the drink table as decor. He requested flowers for a “strawberry themed shower” from TG Floristy and they really delivered! Ginger and Cait drove down to North Carolina from Tennessee Saturday morning with a car packed full of stuff for the shower. They were so prepared…

    My Wedding Dress Shopping Experience

In honor of FINALLY picking up my wedding dress from the store last weekend, I’m sharing about my wedding dress shopping experience and (almost) all of the wedding gowns I tried on today! I was one of those people who knew exactly what wedding dress they wanted. For me, that was Jenny by Jenny Yoo Lawrence Gown. Since Anthropologie carried that dress, I booked an appointment online to try it on. (If you’re looking, this was the North Hills location which has a BHDLN corner in the store). Tragically, the dress was not everything I dreamed of… it was good but not great?! I tried on a few more dresses…

    Wedding Planning Update #2

Hi, friends! We are officially into two-digit countdown until the big day so I thought it was time for another wedding planning update. It feels like we have done so much but somehow still have so much to do… Since I last shared about wedding planning, we have: A lot of the things we have accomplished in the last few months warrant another action on the to-do list (getting the wedding dress altered, finalizing things with the vendors…) but we’re tackling them one by one! P.S. Ending with a few of my favorite photos from my engagement shoot because I am OBSESSED (clearly)!

    Wedding Planning Update #1

After getting engaged at the end of last year, Alex and I made the deliberate decision to save all wedding planning for the new year. By end of January, we were struck with the realization we should probably start planning and making some decisions. I feel like we have gotten a lot of things done in the last month and a half though there is still so much to do! We have almost exactly 6 months to get everything done so fingers crossed. 😉 What we have done so far: What is on our to-do list: I know the list above is still missing a LOT but the way Alex…
