    Wedding Planning Update #1

After getting engaged at the end of last year, Alex and I made the deliberate decision to save all wedding planning for the new year. By end of January, we were struck with the realization we should probably start planning and making some decisions. I feel like we have gotten a lot of things done in the last month and a half though there is still so much to do! We have almost exactly 6 months to get everything done so fingers crossed. 😉 What we have done so far: What is on our to-do list: I know the list above is still missing a LOT but the way Alex…

What I Read in February 2023

HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS AND UNFAIRLY CUTE by Talia Hibbert – 4 stars YA romance from the author of the Brown Sisters trilogy, I had high hopes for Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute and I was not disappointed! Ex-BFFs Bradley and Celine have not spoken to each other in years since they’re big falling apart. In order to win a scholarship for university, they are forced to spend a lot of time together while camping out in the woods. This book was PRECIOUS. Bradley and Celine are nerdy in the most adorable way, and the enemies to lovers trope paired with their innocence was wholesome. The two narrator-s for the audiobook were…

What I Read in January 2023

I WANT TO DIE BUT I WANT TO EAT TTEOKPOKKI / 죽고 싶지만 떡볶이는 먹고 싶어 by Baek Se-hee / 백세희 – 3.5 stars I started seeing this title on Bookstagram last year and picked up a copy of the original Korean book while I was in New York last month. While I knew it was about the author’s battle with depression, I hadn’t known that the book is largely about the conversations she has with her therapist and her reflections following. Some of the dialogue felt a bit dry due to the technical language used but I appreciated the back-and-forth between the author and her therapist, which no doubt…

    My Favorite Books from 2022

Happy new year, friends! I somehow read a total of 100 books in 2022, which is truly a record for me. I don’t think I’ve read more than 50 books since I was in elementary school (when I used to read a book a day #nerd). Today, I’m sharing my top 10 favorite books of the 100 books I read last year. Here we go! TOP 10 FAVORITE BOOKS (in the order I read them) BEASTS OF A LITTLE LAND by Juhea Kim Spanning over several decades during the 20th century Korea, Beats of A Little Land chronicles the lives of Jade and JungHo. Born into a poor family, Jade…

    2022 Reflections & 2023 Intentions

Happy new year, friends! I know we’re already a week into 2023 but I wanted to take some time to reflect on last year and write about my intentions and goals for the new year. Because I was out of town most of the last couple of weeks in December, I am finally sitting down to do so. Personal Last year, I didn’t set specific goals but did choose a word of the year, which was “rest.” For a long time, I couldn’t and wouldn’t let myself rest. I think this had begun in college. I used to literally calculate how much my family was paying every hour for my…
