Afternoon (Tea) at Fearrington
At the end of October, my sisters and I treated our mom to an afternoon at Fearrington House in Pittsboro! This was our second year of doing an afternoon tea for our mom’s birthdays after the inaugural tea at Sugar Magnolia in 2021. It has taken me a few months but I’m sharing more about the Fearrington House’s afternoon tea as well as the Fearrington Village itself. Located in Pittsboro, Fearrington House is about half an hour away from me in Durham. The drive might be closer to an hour if you’re in Raleigh or somewhere else in the Triangle area. Don’t let the distance deter you though! You can…

Afternoon Tea at Sugar Magnolia Cafe
For my mom’s birthday this year, we did an afternoon tea at Sugar Magnolia Cafe in Wake Forest, North Carolina! We were making a reservation a bit late, and thankfully Sugar Magnolia could fit us in on my mom’s actual birthday. Making a reservation was easy and straightforward! I called first but their voice mail directs you to send them an email. They are extremely responsive, which I appreciate. Sugar Magnolia offers a few different tiers of afternoon tea, and we opted for The Donna Lou “Magnolia Tea”, which is about $26 per person. While it is their fanciest option, it is comparable to the standard option for afternoon teas…

Ice Cream Camp at Rockwood Dairy Bar
Hi, friends! I recently attended “Ice Cream Camp” at Rockwood Dairy Bar in Durham, NC. If you like ice cream and want to learn how to make it or try putting different combinations of ingredients together, this might be the perfect thing for you. For Ice Cream Camp, you can book your spot ahead of time on their Square page. The cost is $20 per person, which I think is very reasonable for an hour-ish of fun and for the ice cream you get to take home. They also offer Ice Cream Camp for children, and you can also do private events if you have a large enough group. We…

A Weekend Guide to the Triangle
Hi, friends! I first wrote this post back in February after a friend has visited from out of state. We did a lot of stuff during the weekend all over the Triangle (are you impressed I left Durham?!), and I thought it would be fun to share the “weekend itinerary.” The original plan was to publish it in March, but then COVID-19 pandemic escalated and we were under a lockdown so it didn’t make sense to publish it then.
