What I Read in March 2023
Happy April, friends! I had a lot of things going on during March, both at work and in my personal life so it was a relatively slower reading month but nonetheless, there were some books I loved. Here’s everything I read last month: THE LOVE MATCH by Priyanka Taslim – 4 stars This YA romance is everything you want: a refreshingly unique premise with a Bangladeshi girl who is graduating high school soon and working at a restaurant to support her family; and a plot that remains exciting and dramatic, with a love triangle AND fake dating trope. I personally did not know a lot about Bangladeshi culture prior to…

Wedding Planning Update #1
After getting engaged at the end of last year, Alex and I made the deliberate decision to save all wedding planning for the new year. By end of January, we were struck with the realization we should probably start planning and making some decisions. I feel like we have gotten a lot of things done in the last month and a half though there is still so much to do! We have almost exactly 6 months to get everything done so fingers crossed. 😉 What we have done so far: What is on our to-do list: I know the list above is still missing a LOT but the way Alex…

What I Read in February 2023
HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS AND UNFAIRLY CUTE by Talia Hibbert – 4 stars YA romance from the author of the Brown Sisters trilogy, I had high hopes for Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute and I was not disappointed! Ex-BFFs Bradley and Celine have not spoken to each other in years since they’re big falling apart. In order to win a scholarship for university, they are forced to spend a lot of time together while camping out in the woods. This book was PRECIOUS. Bradley and Celine are nerdy in the most adorable way, and the enemies to lovers trope paired with their innocence was wholesome. The two narrator-s for the audiobook were…

Things I Bought Recently Vol. 3 – Target Edition
It’s been a while since the last rendition of Things I Bought Recently but I’ve certainly been buying things and am excited to resume this series! In the last year, I’ve been making more efforts to make our place more homey and a lot of things have come from Target so in this post, I’m sharing things I bought “recently” from Target: LIVING ROOM Being in a townhome, we don’t get a ton of natural light for the amount of space we have so I had been wanting to add a floor lamp to the living room. I love the look of a pharmacy lamp and after some research, I…

What I Read in January 2023
I WANT TO DIE BUT I WANT TO EAT TTEOKPOKKI / 죽고 싶지만 떡볶이는 먹고 싶어 by Baek Se-hee / 백세희 – 3.5 stars I started seeing this title on Bookstagram last year and picked up a copy of the original Korean book while I was in New York last month. While I knew it was about the author’s battle with depression, I hadn’t known that the book is largely about the conversations she has with her therapist and her reflections following. Some of the dialogue felt a bit dry due to the technical language used but I appreciated the back-and-forth between the author and her therapist, which no doubt…
