Postcards from SATX
Hi, friends! Rex and I are back from a quick weekend trip to San Antonio, TX where we visited one of Rex’s brothers and his fiancĂ©e. It was my second time in Texas ever (first time was in Austin back in 2021) and can I just say I liked San Antonio much better than Austin…. đź‘€
I didn’t take a ton of photos because I really did my best to go with the flow since Rex’s brother and his fiancĂ©e are not used to me being extra. As I say this, I am realizing how many photos I am including in this blog post haha! Here are some snaps from San Antonio:

Okay, not San Antonio/Texas really but we did go to our first Harry Potter in concert at the Majestic Theatre on Friday. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the one “DVD” we had growing up so I have seen it a lot but it was so fun to watch with the live orchestra and in a group setting!

It was Saint Patrick’s Day weekend so naturally a green beer was had. This was on the San Antonio River Walk.

While we were drinking green beer on the River Walk, I realized I wanted hot dogs (but really, I want hot dogs all the time). Rex’s brother and fiancĂ©e took us to The Dogfather where all my fancy hot dog dreams came true! Pictured is the Elote Dog.

Kolaches were sort of on my list since the only legit kolache I’ve ever had was in Savannah, Georgia. We got these two kolaches (bottom was “cuban sandwich”) from the market at the Historic Pearl Sunday morning.

We popped into a bookstore while at The Pearl and I had to snap a picture of this bookworm lion!

Maybe because I was in ESL instead of social studies classes in middle school, I had no idea how historical San Antonio was?! We visited one of the missions–I think Mission San JosĂ©? We also went to The Alamo on a ghost tour which I always love doing on trips!

Pinkerton’s Barbecue lived up to the hype!!! WAY better than the Texas BBQ place in Charleston…

I didn’t even know what Shipley’s was until two months ago but a lot of Texans feel very strongly about Shipley’s so I had to have some! I’m not going to lie…. not sure if these are better than Krispy Kreme but I think I need to try Shipley’s version of “HOT NOW” to give a fair assessment!
Until next time, Texas!!!
