Small Small Business Gift Guide
Hi, friends! Ahead of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, I wanted to share a blog post about some gift ideas. Rather than a big comprehensive post like I’ve done previously, this one is more curated and features things I’ve either bought myself and/or received as gifts. Sometimes I find huge gift guides overwhelming and not helpful for my indecision so I hope you like this short and sweet post!
Angèle. H Paris Dresses & Skirts
I shared about Angèle. H Paris before on IG stories before–they were the company that originally produced the infamous Ellie dress for Hill House Home. They launched their direct-to-consumer line just last month in early October. During their launch promo, I picked up the Jane skirt in White Stewart Tartan and Elizabeth dress in Mistletoe Plaid, both of which I’ve worn at least once a week since. If you’re feeling extra, highly suggest getting matching hair bows or scrunchies too! For Black Friday, they’re doing an even bigger discount with 30% off site wide through November 27th.
I’ve bought Bright Black candles, gifted Bright Black candles, and asked for Bright Black candles as gifts. Their Kingston candle is my absolute favorite candle ever. If I were a candle, that’s what I would like to smell like. They’re doing different promos each day of the long Thanksgiving weekend, and their IG post has all the details! If you’re local to Triangle, they have a brick-and-mortar shop in Durham at which you can shop in person.
Perhaps it’s a bit controversial to include ChappyWrap in this Small Business Guide since they’re Internet famous but they do have a very small number of people working at the company (fewer than 10 I believe) so I think it counts?! ChappyWrap has been one of the few blogger-favorite brands that lived up to the hype for me. We actually just bought our second ChappyWrap blanket and gifted one (this great reversible one) recently!
They’re definitely on the pricier end but they strike the perfect balance of coziness and aesthetics for me. You can use code “CHEER” to get 20% off and free shipping through Monday. And If you’re not particular about the designs themselves, I hear sometimes you can find them at Homegoods and other discount stores!
Custom Heritage Mini Love Letter Necklace from Easter Ahn Design
Last year, I decided to gift myself a piece of jewelry each year for my birthday. I’ve been contemplating what to get for most of this year (you know I’m a classic chronic over-thinker) and finally decided on the Mini Love Letter Necklace from Easter Ahn Design right before my birthday last month. They offer Korean, Chinese, and Japanese but I imagine you can customize it in any language since they send you a proof before they move into production.
I had actually come across a similar design from Kinn Studio, another Korean-American owned jewelry brand, at the beginning of this year but the softer, organic font offered by Easter Ahn ultimately won me over. I influenced one of my sisters to get this necklace as a Christmas gift from her husband, and we’re both anxious to receive our necklaces. They’re currently doing a site wide 15% off holiday sale.
Embroidered Sweatshirt from Traditions Collegiate Apparel
One of my latest TikTok finds! They make a more sophisticated version of college sweatshirt with a classic campus building embroidered. I ordered a purple Clemson sweatshirt for myself to wear to game days since I like purple much better than orange, and another one for Rex because he was looking over my shoulder and I could tell he really wanted one too. Since it’s a small company, they’re adding new colleges/designs slowly so even if you don’t see your alma mater on their website, they might have them in the upcoming months! They’re offering either 30% off your order or Buy 2 Get 1 Free.
Velvet Heart from Dohee Studio
I’m clearly in my jewelry era so I’ve been looking into jewelry storage as well. One day on IG, I came across Dohee Studio and found out that they make the most adorable velvet jewelry cases that are heart-shaped! They come in three different sizes for your different needs and preferences. I actually asked for one of these for Christmas and plan to use mine to storage my “normal” studs, engagement ring, and wedding band every night before I go to bed. For orders over $150, you can get 25% with code “Hearts.”
As a reminder, you can get just about anything from small businesses! Whether you’re shopping fun or for holiday gifts, I encourage you to shop small and local as much as you can. ♥️
