    Pit Stop in Asheville

Alex and I went down to Clemson this weekend for a football game (with our N-95 masks)! We stopped by Asheville on the way back for just about a day and tried quite a few new-to-us places so I thought I would share our experience. FYI, there is a county-wide mask mandate for all indoor spaces at this time. Rosetta’s Kitchen & The Buchi Bar I had Rosetta’s Kitchen bookmarked on Yelp for the longest time because we love The Buchi kombucha. So when my friend Nicole suggested Rosetta’s Kitchen for lunch, I said yes immediately! Rosetta’s has vegan soul food made with locally sourced ingredients. We started with Vegan…

Park’s Food St. – Durham’s Korean Food Hall

JULY 2022 UPDATE: Unfortunately, Park’s Food Street has permanently closed according to their website. Hi, friends! You know I have been a big fan of Itaewon Grill since it opened a few years ago. When Jay from Itaewon Grill mentioned that he was working on a food hall concept, I was so excited! Naturally, I went to check out Park’s Food Street as soon as it opened—literally on their first day of soft opening! Park’s Food Street has three different menus—Cupdak, Ramyun Time, and Taco Park. I recently went back and was happy to see they have improved their menu even more. Keep reading to see photos and find out…

Ice Cream Camp at Rockwood Dairy Bar

Hi, friends! I recently attended “Ice Cream Camp” at Rockwood Dairy Bar in Durham, NC. If you like ice cream and want to learn how to make it or try putting different combinations of ingredients together, this might be the perfect thing for you. For Ice Cream Camp, you can book your spot ahead of time on their Square page. The cost is $20 per person, which I think is very reasonable for an hour-ish of fun and for the ice cream you get to take home. They also offer Ice Cream Camp for children, and you can also do private events if you have a large enough group. We…

    Visiting Purple Alpaca Farms

I visited an alpaca farm for the first time this weekend, and of course, I had to tell you all about it! About Purple Alpaca Farms After seeing a college friend visit, I immediately bookmarked Purple Alpaca Farms on Instagram (I have a collection of “Local Places to Try Soon”). Purple Alpaca Farms is a family-owned farm located in Boonville, NC. It took us right about two hours from Durham, but the bulk of the drive is a straight shot on I-40. If you are in the Triad area, it would be a quick drive. Purple Alpaca Farms offers a few different types of experiences—Farm Tour, Alpaca Yoga, and agriculture…

    Durham Date Night: M Tempura

Hi, friends! I received a blog post request for date night ideas, and I thought it’d be fun to turn it into a series. There are quite a few places on Alex and I’s list (including Gocciolina, Cucciolo Osteria, and MC Restaurant) so I hope to share our experiences with you as we cross them off our list. For the first post of the series, I am writing about our most recent date night at M Tempura, which was the last of the M Restaurants for us to try! If you are not yet familiar, there are four “M Restaurants” in downtown Durham: M Sushi, M Kokko, M Tempura, and…
