Summer of Outdoor Patio

Hi, friends! Hope you are social distancing and making smart and safe decisions during this ongoing pandemic. I have ventured out a little bit and wanted to talk about outdoor patios! Here are the (very) few places I have been to recently and my experiences:

Bull City Ciderworks – This was yesterday, and it was a lovely Saturday afternoon spent drinking cider! They have a generous outdoor seating area with lots of picnic tables. Indoor seating is available as well, but almost everyone was sitting outside. Masks were worn by employees and required for ordering/when you were not sitting down at your table. We got a flight and brought a couple of crowlers home. They have cider slushies right now, and those looked so good and refreshing!

Hi-Wire Brewing – I caught up with one of my college friends Ellen last weekend at Hi-Wire Brewing. It was my first time at Hi-Wire and at the Golden Belt Campus. Seeing Two Roosters Durham location open was a nice surprise! Hi-Wire is huge and they have a ton of seating. Masks are required, and they are properly enforcing social distancing by spacing out the outdoor tables and locking up(?) alternating indoor tables. There is an app you can download to order and pay contact-free, but you can also order at the bar.

Rosemont of Virginia Winery – Earlier this month, I caught up with an old coworker at Rosemont which is about midway point between Richmond, VA and Raleigh-Durham. I mentioned this in an Instagram post as well, but Rosemont is spacious and there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Some outdoor tables have an umbrella (not the table we sat at) which is an added plus for this summer and for when it rains (which it did when we went lol). Masks are required for entry except for when you are sitting and drinking at your table. When you walk into the building, you first have to “check-in” and they will find you a table.

Not counting eating to-go food at picnic tables, those are my outdoor patio experiences (which I am realizing are all drinking). Have you been dining (or drinking) in on outdoor patios? Tell me!
