Week in Outfits 2021.12.05
LAST WEEK: Sometimes short work weeks feel like the longest but thankfully last week was not one of those weeks! It was the first time in a long time I didn’t have any evening meeting and I think that might be why. I spent half the weekend with my older sister Jiyoung which was nice since we hadn’t had one-on-one time together in a long time. THIS WEEK: I am taking a couple of days in the middle of the week (had to use a little more PTO before the end of the year and to celebrate Jiyoung’s birthday). It’s going to be the weekend before I know it, which…

Visiting Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm
‘Tis the season! We finally got around to getting a Christmas tree for the living room this weekend. I learned about Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm in Apex from a friend recently and was too excited to not check it out! I mean, I had no idea we even had any Christmas tree farm in the Triangle area. Since there aren’t that many Christmas tree farms here, Jordan Lake gets pretty popular. For Thanksgiving weekend and the following weekend, they require reservations, which are free. I made a reservation for the Sunday after Thanksgiving (first Sunday in December) and they actually ran out of trees the Saturday before and cancelled…

What I Read in November 2021
Happy December, friends! I have been not reading as much and November was probably the slowest reading month for me. On some days, I felt pretty down about that fact that but I know the number of books I read each month (or ever) has no significance. BRAISED PORK by An Yu – 3.75 stars TW: Suicide I randomly picked this up while I was in DC a couple of months ago and I have never read quite anything like it. Braised Pork begins when Jia Jia finds her husband dead in the bathroom of their Beijing apartment. She founds next to him a drawing of a man with a…

The Starling House in Swannanoa, North Carolina
Over the weekend, Alex and I stayed at the cutest A-Frame cabin called The Starling House in Swannanoa, North Carolina. We have always wanted to stay at a tiny house so we booked this Airbnb when we came across it earlier this year. Because it’s absolutely adorable and close to Asheville, it’s pretty popular. In fact, Thanksgiving weekend was one of two weekends available when we made our reservation back in June. There were some things in the Airbnb listing we had overlooked and some things we just didn’t know until we got there, and I am sharing those things in this post in case it helps anyone planning to…

Week in Outfits 2021.11.28
LAST WEEK: The three-day work week followed by a five-day weekend (I took today off as well) was a blessing. It’s always a treat to turn off your brain for a while! My only plan was to read and eat a lot and I accomplished one of those things (the latter if you couldn’t guess). THIS WEEK: Returning to work after a holiday weekend is always a struggle but since I am coming back to a four-day work week, I hope it is not too painful! It’s absolutely wild that it will be DECEMBER in just a couple of days. Where has 2021 gone?! I don’t really have any plans…
