    Mumbles 11.14.2021

Hi, friends! I didn’t get to take a photo of my outfits this past week (though I did put on real clothes most of the day) but I wanted to share some highlights from this past week(end) nonetheless. I am calling this Mumbles like my Monthly Mumbles–I might just renamed the “Week in Outfit” series as Mumbles in case this last week is indicative of many upcoming weeks haha. Not pictured but Alex and I last minute decided to go to trivia at a brewery nearby. We ended up getting there right on time and had trouble finding parking because they were so busy! We have been there a few…

Last week was a short work week for me because I took a trip out to Austin, TX for my birthday weekend! This week, I feel like I am forever catching up on work and life but I am hoping to be caught up and fully rest this upcoming weekend (but maybe this will happen Thanksgiving weekend 🙈). What We Did and Ate in Austin, TX

For my birthday this year, I took a trip to Austin with Alex, my mom, and one of my sisters. We were only in town for two and half days but managed to do eat and do a bunch of stuff (despite very last minute planning too). Obviously, I am not an Austin expert by any means but hope some people find this post helpful! Eat (Breakfast) Tacos Our very first meal in Texas was tacos, of course! LAST WEEK: Inspired by a book I read recently, I have been making effort to wake up earlier around 6am. I would say 7am is my happy wake up time, and I used to get up at 6am but recently, I have been sleeping in until 8am so far it’s a work in progress. On the days I woke up early last week, I worked on the blog before my day job which is why I have been cracking out more blog posts recently! THIS WEEK: I am going to Austin this weekend! I have always wanted to go to Austin, and it’s going to be my first time in…

What I Read in October 2021

Can you believe we only have two more months left of 2021? I have no clue where September and October went! I have gotten a little bit of reading done recently, and here’s what I read in October: KINDRED by Octavia Butler – 4.5 stars TW: racism, rape, violence I read my first Octavia Butler book!!! I had heard of Kindred and Octavier Butler years ago, but it took me years to get around to read it! Kindred, Butler’s most well-known book, follows Dana, a twenty-six year old Black woman living in 1970s California. She finds herself transported to antebellum Maryland (across time & space) repeatedly to save Rufus, a…
