STYLE,  WEEK IN OUTFITS

Weekend(s) in Outfits 2022.5.8

Hi, friends! The last couple of weeks had been a whirlwind because—my sister Jiyoung is married!!! Though I didn’t put on real clothes every day the last two weeks, the times I did were mostly for Jiyoung’s wedding festivities so I guess that would be the alternative title for this edition of “Weekend(s) in Outfits.” 😉

Here’s what I did and wore last couple of weekends:

Friday, April 29

We drove up to Charlottesville for a short bachelorette weekend for Jiyoung. It was just me, Jiyoung, and one of her friends due to scheduling conflicts but it ended up being the perfect, low-key weekend.

We were all pretty worn out from the week and the drive up and didn’t do much most of the afternoon. We did go out to Charlottesville Historic Downton Mall in the evening for dinner and stopped by one of the Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks on the way to snap some photos!

Saturday, April 30

Saturday was for the wineries! Except we only made it to two haha. We went to Blenheim and Pippin Hill, two wineries that I wanted to go to but couldn’t the last time I was in Charlottesville. Jiyoung and I split a wine flight at Blenheim, which was mostly covered with a huge tent.

We found the wine at Pippin Hill a little bit pricey so we opted for a bottle instead. The views at Pippin Hill are absolutely stunning so I do agree with literally everyone to check it out. It’s by far my favorite Charlottesville winery by view/vibes. We spent all afternoon there! PSA: you can go to Pippin Hill without a reservation if you’re okay with sitting on the lawn.

Wearing one of my favorite skirts, which was my mom’s in the 80s!

Packing weather-appropriate clothes is not my forte, and I definitely packed too lightly for the weekend. I was so thankful that I decided to throw in my lavender Dudley Stephens in the car last-minute because I wore it and needed it literally every day!

Thursday, May 5

Above photo is technically from this past Friday but we all repeated our Thursday outfits in the morning before getting ready for the wedding so I think this is close enough! I took off work on Thursday to run a couple of errands with Jiyoung (mainly picking up a cake from Little Barb’s bakery and dropping it off at a restaurant in Cary where the reception dinner was).

Our mom joined us in the afternoon for manicure/pedicure session. It was only my second time getting my nails done and the very first time I got my toe nails done (that is not by me or Jiyoung haha). We went to Zily The Nail Bar in Morrisville per my other sister Sujung’s recommendation and had a great experience!

In the evening, we did a family dinner at my brother’s house (for which we ended up cooking all afternoon because our mom decided to have three main dishes) where we got to meet Daniel’s family for the first time!

Friday, May 6

Friday was the wedding day! We started the morning off pretty slowly but found ourselves rushing by late morning! The weather forecast for late afternoon was not looking great so we had some last-minute scheduling changes for some photos. They did a small courthouse ceremony followed by a larger but still intimate dinner reception and we got to squeeze a trip to Raleigh Rose Garden for some photos.

Somehow, this was my first time seeing the Rose Garden in full bloom?! I made Sujung take some photos while the wedding photographer was occupied with the bride and groom. Alex and I both are totally repeating an outfit from another wedding we went to last year but I’m trying to not buy new things for every occasion!!! And isn’t this a perfect wedding guess/date night/dress-up-for-no-reason dress?!

Saturday, May 7

My Instagram friend Hannah shared about Clean Racer, a new coffee shop opening inside Jeddah’s in downtown Durham so we met up for their grand opening! We also went to a pop-up market where I bought more candles and soaps because I’m predictable but also because those are useful consumables!!!

Sunday, May 8

While I did very little on Sunday in an attempt to recover from the wedding festivities, we did have an outing in Clayton for lunch at Mezcalito! We almost tried their Beaufort location a couple of years ago and my sister Sujung goes to there Clayton location pretty frequently so we were really excited to try it. I’m going to share more details on Instagram in the coming days but their drinks are so fun and their portion sizes are huge!!!
